Let authors edit contributions

We are currently conducting a major conference with Indico. The call for abstracts and the peer review (of the abstracts) is through.
Now it works out that all submitted abstracts are taken over as contributions.
Unfortunately, however, the main authors are not automatically accepted as “speakers”.
I have to do this for each contribution individually.

Additionally, I want authors to be able to change their submitted abstract. I have found a solution: I can individually change the access protection for the contribution and add the person. But this is very cumbersome with 140 posts.
Isn’t there a general setting that allows authors of posts to be able to edit the posts?

v3.1.1 (unreleased, but we could release it soon) will add a setting to allow people with submission rights on a contribution to edit its basic details.

Unfortunately, however, the main authors are not automatically accepted as “speakers”.

Just FYI, by default at least one speaker needs to be selected during submission of the abstract (unless you change the settings to not require this)…
