This thread is meant for all those interested in translating Indico into Korean.

In order to facilitate consultation by other translation teams, I suggest we use English whenever possible. Especially, the subject of every thread shall be written in English or, at least, Korean with its English translation alongside.

However, messages deeply connected to grammar or the meaning of words can be written in Korean. In those cases, please consider adding a short description or summary in English to help non-Korean speakers to understand the context.

Hi,
You’re right, Korean has already been requested before. We get quite a few language requests but unless there is interest from potential translators I don’t think it’s worth to add it. Would you be willing help with the Korean translation?

Sure, why not I’m actually using Indico to accept some papers for Korean events, So would be helpful if we can add Korean translation.

Keep in mind that translating Indico is a massive effort so just take it easy and do what you can. Hopefully this’ll inspire more people to join as well

Hi @mkwon, I think on this page you can try clicking “팀에 합류” (or in English it should be “Join the team”). If that not works, probably you may want to ask @troun for help.

Many of entries are confirmed without any translation entry, you can see the situation at the screenshots below.

It seems to be changed with some of automated procedure. (history has API and bot entries)
Is there somebody to help about this (make mis-confirmed entry to untranslated)?

It seems like our script incorrectly marked some of the emptry transifex translations as ‘reviewed’. I have just fixed this for you, so it should be fine now.

유럽 시간으로 오늘(2026년 7월 10일) 새벽에 1차로, 기계와 사람의 합작으로 전체 번역을 끝냈습니다. 대충 3년 정도 걸렸네요. 다만 일부 요소가 reviewed 상태여서 몇몇 부분이 수정이 안됩니다. 이 부분만 빼면 다 된 것으로 보입니다. (예를 들면, “Room” 을 객실로 번역된 기계번역 부분이 있는 것 같습니다. indico-roombooking 에서는 보통 회의실이나 공유업무공간예약에 쓰므로, 객실은 정확하지 않습니다).

이 뒷 작업은, https://localization-demo.getindico.io/ 서비스를 활용하여 번역 테스트 환경에서 각 부분에 적절한 구문/문구가 들어갔는지 확인해보는 작업이 남았습니다. indico 를 오래 썼었기 때문에(~10년?) 도메인에 맞게 대부분 번역을 했다고 생각하기는 합니다만, 데모로 활용해보면서 일부 수정해야할 부분이 있을 수 있습니다. stable branch (github/indico/indico/main) 업로드되기 전까지는 수정을 계속 할 예정입니다만, 며칠 내로 큰 부분은 전부 수정될 것으로 보입니다 (21 July at the earliest, August at the latest)

한가지 이상한 점은 50.06% reviewed 라고 되어있는데 대부분 문구는 reviewed 검색으로 검색이 안됩니다. 다 뜯어서 보고싶지만은, 일단 안되니까 넘어가겠습니다.

위와 같이 번역사항 업데이트 알림 드리며, 계속 indico 는 업데이트 되고 여러 메시지가 계속 업데이트되는 것 같기에, 사실 일은 끝나지 않을 것 같습니다.

Early this morning European time (July 10, 2026), I completed the first full pass of the translation, done through a combination of machine translation and human work. It took roughly three years. However, some elements are in “reviewed” status, so a few parts cannot be edited. Aside from those, everything appears to be done. (For example, there seem to be machine-translated portions where “Room” was rendered as “객실” (hotel room). Since indico-roombooking is typically used for booking meeting rooms or shared workspaces, “객실” is not accurate.)

The remaining follow-up work is to use the https://localization-demo.getindico.io/ service to verify, in the translation test environment, that appropriate phrases/wording appear in each part. Having used Indico for a long time(~10y?), I believe most of the translation was done appropriately for the domain, but there may be some parts that need revision as I try things out in the demo. I plan to keep making corrections until it’s uploaded to the stable branch (github/indico/indico/main), but the major parts should all be fixed within a few days (21 July at the earliest, August at the latest).

One odd thing: it says 50.06% reviewed, but most strings don’t show up when I search by “reviewed.” I’d like to dig into all of it, but since it’s not working for now, I’ll move on.

This is just an update on the translation status. Since Indico keeps getting updated and various messages continue to change, the work will realistically never be fully finished.
