Removing 'Affiliation' field in registration forms

Hello, and sorry if this was already discussed: is there a way to remove the ‘Affiliation’ field in registration forms? Is it possible to hide this field by default?

The reason I ask is that we want to minimize as much as possible the personal data collected for registration.

You can’t disable it globally by default, but you can easily disable it after creating the registration form since anything can be customized there.
