Hi,
I wanted to use indico for a high school pupils conference and would like to know wether it is possible to configure registration form in a way, that one teacher (guardian of the pupils) could register, say, 15 people to a workshop?
If I tell the pupils to register by themselfs - they will certainly not do it… Not this generation…
If I tell teachers that they should register each pupil by themselfs - they will kill me…
Is there a better solution?
Best regards,
Katarzyna
Are you organizing the conference? If yes, you could just use the “accompanying persons” field in the registration form. The teacher would still need to fill in names for the students though.
If only the number of students is needed, just use a number field instead so the teacher can provide the number of students.
PS: Maybe the students would learn that (lack of) actions have consequences if they don’t register and then cannot go to the event…?
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I am the organizer.
I know about the “accompanying persons” option, but it does not fulfill our requirements.
The workshops are in the lab, there is a limited number of participants. Registering “accompanying persons” does not count down the number of persons registered to a workshop.
You are right about the pupils registering to a conference, but in the real world this would end up in a situation, that 20 pupils go to a conference/workshops (say, 20 km from their school) and only 3 of them are registered and there is no more place for the rest of them in the lab…
you can configure accompanying persons to count against the total registration limit as well
OK, but I need it to count against the certain limit on a certain workshop (not the total registration limit)…
Say, I have 3 worshops, each has a limit 15 people/lab and a teachar wants to register 3 people to workshop1 and 5 people to workshop3. So after registration in the worshop1 should be 12 places left and in the workshop3, 10 places left.
One option would be creating separate registration forms.
Alternatively, if you only care about the numbers but not the names, you can use am single (or multi) choice field with one entry for each workshop, and enable both extra slots and set a limit.
That way the choice can be selected as long as there are still free slots AND the total number of slots chosen will count against that limit.
Perfect, the second option works fine! Thank you.
