Registration email confirmation not reaching participants

Hi,

I am organising a conference (https://events.idems.international/event/2/) and I’m having trouble with confirmation email for registrations. The log shows that emails are sent, however participants are reporting not receiving it. I did some research and it seems that many mail providers filter out emails with a lot of html and no plain text alternative (which I believe is the case here) and this might be the reason. I tested it with a test user using a gmail account and there was a log of the email sent but I didn’t receive confirmation (I checked spam and other folders).

I was hoping there was a way to either include a plain text alternative, just send plain text, or disable the automatic registration notification to manage this manually (preferred option).

Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks!

How are you sending etmails? (ie what kind of mail server does indico connect to, and how does that one send its emails)

HTML-only is unlikely to be the culprit, but if you run your own mail server on a weird TLD (“new” TLDs are often heavily abused, not sure about .international though) and the server IP has no reutation of being a good mail sender, it’s perfectly possible that some emails go to junk…

Thanks for your response. I am not sure about how we are sending emails, I am more on the front end of things but I can try to find out. However, I am receiving emails on the mentioned account from indico for account creation and for abstract submission. The registration form confirmation I don’t get at all, not even in junk or other possible folders but a log of the email sent appears in the Indico site.
