I’m very new to this and have tried searching but cant seem to find an answer. I would like to use indico to put up training events for customers to self register for. Is there a method or a recommended practice to configure settings to limit the number of attendees? Our labs can handle 18 users at a time, so i would like to avoid over booking
Thank you Tomas. I will have to have a good read through the docs as I don’t see any of those settings in my console, when logged in as the admin I created after deployment.
“Participant roles” is not really related to registration but rather shows your speakers etc.
You need to go to “Participants” instead.
PS: Many parts of Indico, especially the management areas, are not really mobile-friendly, so using a desktop/laptop computer will give you a MUCH better experience there.
There’s likely steps I’ve missed in user setups and creation of the events.
Unless there’s something glaringly obvious to you, I’ll take some time to go through the docs tomorrow and make sure I have users and roles setup, and also step through the guide to starting an event. It’s possible I’m just using the wrong event type.
I appreciate the quick responses and the help, but this is most likely a me issue than anything with the system
One guess: You did not choose the type to be conference, instead you used meeting or lecture?
Then registration in the backend could also be named participants.
those particular features are available regardless of event type. the only difference is that the main menu item is called “Registration” for conferences, and “Participants” for lectures/meetings
Thanks everyone. I’m RTFMing as I have more time today and its a great looking system. Hoping to get approval to productionise it for work as its going to cut out the manual spreadsheet work
