Does anyone here know how Google Wallet works? We’ve enabled Wallet for the tickets and created an account for the Google Pay & Wallet Console. This gave us the Issuer ID required by Indico. Now we just need the Google credentials. To get them, we apparently need to set up a Google Cloud account as well. That account requires a payment method. Is that correct? Does anyone know of another way to move forward with this?
I’m pretty sure that all the wallet-related functionality is free - when I tested this I used my personal Google account for this. I never setup any google cloud related payments. Maybe you just need to have a “google payments” account set up (because wallet can also be used for payments). But no need to have any actual payment methods attached to it.
What you enable on the google cloud project is the “Google Wallet API”.
Unfortunately the whole google cloud setup is extremely convoluted, even for things as basic as generating tickets…
