Is there a way to disable the default behavior of authors sorting in abstract submission, so there is no sorting alphabetically (submitter will be required to reorder authors) and hide the sorting button?

No, the idea is that people switch to manual sorting only if they need that and otherwise use the default alphabetic sorting.

In fact some submitters got confused and didn’t understand why they can’t reorder authors. They seem to miss the sort button.. I’ll add some clarification to the abstract instructions.
I’ll probably look at the templates to add a notice under the button with red color (so they don’t miss it this time)
Adding a custom page in the event with abstract submission instructions (if the builtin functionality to add a message on the CfA page is not sufficient) would be much easier…
In fact, in our conferences, the order of authors matters, so all submitters will have to disable authors sorting. It would be nice to have this configurable in call of abstract settings in future releases.
