Can Indico be used for managing sporting events

I am hoping to use indico for a variety of events including sporting events

are there plugins to accommodate this type of functionality

I have no idea what “this type of functionality” implies and thus what you’d expect from such a plugin… but I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to use Indico for any kind of events (I’ve even seen someone use an Indico registration form for guests to sign up for his wedding some years ago :D).
